Adulting: The Price of Wings
By Agrima Bajpai
Adulting you get freedom,
Freedom to move outside without a finger in hand,
Freedom to eat whatever without any desires in mind,
Freedom to wear the trends, out in the open,
Freedom to kill egos with fame as a weapon,
Freedom to walk the path of fiery embers,
Freedom to celebrate with a glass in hand in the chilly decembers,
Freedom to live life like the queen of chess,
Freedom to die high with an indomitable success.
But would you like the freedom or that homely cage,
Where two souls loved you at every stage,
Where a finger would hold you whenever you fall,
Where the tough tender touch teaches you to stand tall,
Where you do not fake your internal beauty,
Where you are wrapped with innocence and pristine purity,
Where fun and banter make you feel light,
And you never feel like facing the adulting plight.

if adulting was a poem, it'd be this
I wish I never grew older 🥹🥹
