Adjust But not at The Cost of Your Self- Respect

Updated: Jul 16

By Shelza Manghnani

When things don’t turn out the way we expected,

To adjust, is the only way for feeling accepted.

While growing up, we are taught to always adjust,

Even with people and situations, we don’t really trust.

Slowly with time, you learn how to quietly adjust

And by adjust, I mean settle, leaving your opinions to rust.

Settling is not really a bad decision,

But compromising your respect, is surely the worst decision.

Just look around and observe,

It’s your respect you are about to serve.

So, step back from adjusting,

Where all you feel about yourself, is disgusting.
