As she sits against the wall, too stunned to speak

Her body immobile to the help that she seeks

"It's my imagination", she swears

But her heart says, beware

The pain increases

And her self worth decreases

"I didn't mean to, I am so sorry", he says

She forgives him once more, in the haze

Days, months & years pass by..

The next sting comes harder than the first

Pulling her out of her thirst

She looks at him with pure fear

He looks at her as though, she's no dear

While she sits and ponders

Her mind wanders

I am a woman, she repeatedly thinks

Deserving of honour

Of love

Of respect

And she walks out in the streets

With the sweetness of courage in her beat
