A Whisper To Soul

By Avantika Singh

An errant soul lurking across the crowd

no purpose, no goal

just ending veiled in shroud

Didn’t know how, didn’t know what

just motive was clear to make them proud

Stood atop the highest pole

watched them wander, watched them stroll

but figured out it was a labyrinth

with no end

a maze of faces where time refused to bend

Had to make a way out from the hustle and bustle,

Had to make a way out to reach that dreamy castle

Was told it lies in world beyond,

Was told it’s just a myth

Yet something in silence called

A whisper buried deep beneath.
