A True Lady

What makes a lady, a pillar of grace?

Neither fine silks nor a pretty face,

What gives the feminine figure respect,

That soul of perfection, without defect,

Neither great riches nor a stately name,

But a pure heart and temperament tame,

A truthful tongue and helpful hands,

Such is a lady, fairest in all lands.
