When she woke up she hadn't a clue

The only feeling remained of a duty still due

Out of the bright light came a voice

All she could hear was hues and cries

Don't get afraid the voice uttered

Suddenly she felt clean from all that was cluttered

Am I dead she asked hesitantly

Almost' replied the voice rather gently

You are at a stage between life and the beyond

She found it impossible to even respond

You will now be judged on your every deed

Said the voice that she couldn't even plead

She felt numb as in her core

She felt that she could have done more

She couldn't remember anything that she had done

The voice replied 'For that I am the one

The life you had wasn't all hunky dory

You left the zeal for the search of glory

You got a job one not leading to wealth

You were in charge of nursing people back to health

There was an outbreak of a deadly disease

Economies crumbled and the world went into a cease

Your job still underappreciated suddenly became the frontline

Your working conditions were at par with a coalmine

You worked day and night without much food or rest

You tried to attend to everyone at the earliest

You did your best as per your capacity

But the disease caught up to you showing no pity

You are holding on to your last few breaths right now

Your instincts have pushed you into a final fight now

The sense of duty is still trying to pull you back

You must get the satisfaction you still lack'

She had so many questions needed to be answered

'Are you God', was the only thing she murmured

The next moment she woke up in a hospital bed

A feeling of tranquillity was all over her head

The doctors said it was a miracle

She had survived a disease in its pinnacle

They broke the news that the pandemic was now gone

That the job of the nurse was now the bravest one.
