A Toast to his Departure

As twilight sets, I look outside my window,

I find myself waiting for you,

Forgetting the thousand miles that exist between us,

I live on my hopes of you that accrue;

How relentlessly foolish can love make someone?

Would you believe my heart never listens to what's true?

However irony of my own words that could be,

I still don't regret being in love with you;

As hopeful dreams enter the dusk,

I close my eyes to fathom them at their best,

Sleep has stayed so far away from me,

How do I put my misery to rest?

The blank walls of my room go silent,

Much noise can be heard when I cross their way,

What new discovery am I trying to make now?

I'll find my way to peace some day.
