A Time That Once Was

By Ishaan Dikshit`

Times like these upon the coven of the sky,

I raise my head, alone in a field of grass.

Miles upon miles, as my eyes could see,

The horizon and the stars, shining, glimmering beautifully.

The moon was a company,

Its veil, the stars.

The cold wind against my ankles,

And a voice from afar.

Colors now shine, the way they used to,

Every breath I took, a moment closer to you.

The sun shys from that smile,

For it provides the world with warmth.

And the earth breaks open,

Taking with you, my heart.

I could look from the deepest crevice

Or the highest peaks

Under the water

And all that I seek.

Oh how I wish time could tick faster apart,

And slower with.

But if wishes become reality

Fate wouldn't be a monolith

So now I wait,

And gaze from afar

A familiar voice, one my soul calls.

For life isn't a race,

It's a journey.

One I intend to spend

With you,

For eternity.
