A Thread of Self

In the tapestry of life, I'm a thread,

Woven to stand, yet often misled,

To believe that worth is measured by fame,

And happiness is found in another's name.

But in the stillness, I hear a voice,

Whispering truths, a heartfelt choice,

To let go of the need for external praise,

And find solace in my own soul's gaze.

I am here for myself, on a journey to take,

To discover, to heal, to learn, and to make,

Mistakes and triumphs, a path I'll design,

With every step, my heart and mind will align.

Through trials and tribulations, I'll find my way,

And in the darkness, I'll learn to stay

True to myself, my values, and my core,

And let my authenticity be the light that I adore.

In this world of noise, I'll find my own sound,

A rhythm that echoes, without needing to be found,

I'll dance to the beat of my own drum,

And in the silence, I'll have won.

For I am here for myself, with love to share,

A compassion to nurture, a soul to repair,

I'll be my own guiding light, my own shelter and home,

And in this self-love, I'll forever roam.

With every breath, I'll let go of the pain,

And with every step, I'll rise above the shame,

I'll learn to forgive, to let go, and to heal,

And in this self-love, my heart will reveal.

In the mirror's gaze, I'll see a face so bright,

A reflection of love, hope, and light,

I'll see a soul that's strong, resilient, and free,

A soul that's mine, a soul that's me.

So I'll keep walking on this journey I've begun,

With every step, a stronger sense of self is won,

I'll keep on rising above the noise and the pain,

And in this self-love, I'll find my heart's sweet refrain.
