A Thousands Lifetimes of You
By Anish Kumar
In sleep’s hush where truth breathes raw,
I wandered halls I’ve walked before –
In lifetimes layered, bruised by sin,
Where light was faint, yet burned within.
I saw my heart – not red , but worn,
Tattered from the wrongs I’ve borne.
Each beat – an echo, cracked and bent,
Each joy – too brief, each mercy – spent.
I lived in shades of pain and fire,
Fed by weakness, lost desire.
I cheated fate, I broke what’s true,
I hurt what only meant to soothe.
But still – she came.
Nor fierce with fire, nor cold with blame,
But calm… like dawn that knows my name.
She did not ask the reasons why,
She touched my heart – and let me cry.
Her love, not loud – it did not scream,
It hummed beneath the hardest dream.
Like medicine in poisoned veins,
It healed my heart through lifetimes’ chains.
No matter who I chose to be,
No matter what I failed to see –
Her love remained. A silent prayer,
A pulse beneath despair’s cold air.
For hers was not a lover’s claim –
It bore the weight of sacred flame.
It knew my soul before my name.
It saw the storm – and loved the same.
And so I weep not just in pain,
But in awe that such love still remain.
Where karma falters, where time forgets,
She walks – my grace, with no regrets.
A vow not made in temple halls,
But etched within my spirit’s walls.
Where I go dark, Where I deceive –
She stays, and teaches me to breathe.
O love – if these dreams are true,
Then all I am is bound to you.
Not chained by fear, nor fate’s demand,
But held by your forgiving hand.
So when this world breaks me apart,
Let your love remain – the core of my heart.
