A Teacher of My Town

By Ballaleshwar Tela

He is fond of students

And books of science

Inspire them for accomplishments

By teaching them valiance

He chose to be alone—

For the service of India

His walk—dive of a falcon

His knowledge—Wikipedia

He is concerned,

Of each of his pupil

Choices of life, he recommends,

None of his advices go futile

From dawn to dusk

He lights up the minds of young

For dinner he takes two rusks

Then for brief; by the sleep he is strung

Early morning when it is still dark,

He wakes up

Incessantly pursue his karma—his work,

Free from cycles of rebirth, a God’s trap.
