Lo! A serpent, in my shoe,
A sly, silent intruder, who
Slipped unnoticed, without ado,
What cosmic whimsy brought you through?
In leather confines, you lay at ease,
A scaly recluse, a cryptic tease.
How serendipitous, this strangest tryst,
A coiled guest, whom I had not wished.
Did you traverse, o'er fields unseen?
Or from the garden's lush ravine?
Through secret groves, with covert grace,
Seeking solace in this snug space.
Oh, slithering voyager, from whence you came,
Was it the river's edge, or fields aflame?
Did you dance with shadows in the moonlit glen,
Or bask in the sun with scales agleam?
Your daily dramas, veiled in mystery,
Do you chase the wind, in serpent symphony?
Through grassy blades and dew-kissed morn,
Or beneath the rocks, where you were born?
I ponder, as you languish there,
How life unfolds, beyond this lair.
What quests await, what destinies unfold,
In the untamed realms, yet to be told?
Shoe-bound serpent, what dreams you hold,
In the cocoon of darkness, so untold.
Will you exit, with stealthy retreat?
Or rise, unraveling, in the open street?
