A surprise call from an old friend. A casual call, catching up. destined desire to meet, freedom from the cage of distance. Taking a moment to drink each other's existence.

We talked and we hugged and we drowned in the rawness of our memories. Lost kids, under the veil of happy hearts.

Faking a smile like it was an art.

We breathed in the stories with laughter and coffee.

other's names the stories of catching the clouds and

the stories of our existence in each running away.

The voice in those stories had no weakness.

memories, washed away by the slow river of separation.

memories, washed away by the slow river of separation.

Somewhere, our hearts still stitched together,

aching in unison at the sound of restless giggles.

We blunted about the sleepless nights.

And about the dreams of daylight.

Maybe in the sadness of spring,

the autumn aroma of our shared laughter helps me breathe a little better. Maybe a part of me will always be yours.

Even if the wrinkles around my eyes matures.

Maybe we will always carry the ashes of someone we once were. I still see a reflection of me that shines through her.

We parted our ways with one last hug.

That day I left with a casual shrug.

In a wait until another surprise call.

Years later, I am old and I am wise.

Thankful to this life even if it came with many lies.

Sometimes I wish the past would
