A Stranger In The World

By Anusree Gupta

I am a stranger in this world.

No one knows what I like,

Love not just a single soul…

But to spread the joy of light

Darkest hours are but the test of God;

Breaks me but yet I yield.

For I have learnt to find my balm,

To soothe the pain and stand as the shield

I have found my happiness!

Among the folded pages of the past,

Amid the tufts of clouds,

Where I often lose my thoughts.

Like the evening summer breeze,

Cures the wrath of the summer sun.

The golden memories, the careless laughs,

Act on the wound like balm

Laughs are not fake.

Wounds are deep.

But I care enough to forget,

As I am too tired to weep.

Life is a journey…

And my stop is yet to come.

Will fight till the last chapter ends,

Until my cenotaph is done.
