A Story Of Success

By Harshada Reddy Annareddy

It all started when,

Poster colors fell on my T-shirt which says ten,

I thought it would wear out with water a bit,

So, I didn't throw a fit,

At home,

I scrubbed it,

Rubbed it,

And even drugged it,

The next day,

To everyone’s dismay,

The marks were still there,

This isn’t fair,

But if it was a coincidence I never knew,

Because a plane crashed into our building which was new,

The teachers told us not to panic,

But no one was in the mode to do it,

Me and my friend ran out of school,

Passing the sign “School is cool,

And bid goodbye to our swimming pool,

We ran to our house,

What frightened us was a mouse,

But then I realized I dropped the key,

And we weren’t happy,

So, in the bus stand we stayed,

Unfortunately, the bus passes the bay,

But then another bus came,

And now it was okay,

They dropped us at a hotel,

But then came a tsunami,

Who joined us was a guy named Lee,

We ran to the airport,

Which looked like a fort,

We booked tickets for the next day,

And we all paid,

We stayed at the airport hotel for a day,

The next day we took off to Australia,

And learned a bit of onomatopoeia

We set up a shop,

And sold corn that was popped,

But then people realized my talent,

People started liking me,

And giving me courtesy,

So, I became the Prime Minister of the country I first fled,

And what I always remember,

“Good leaders come from a bad background,

And, how on the footpath I used to pound,

All my friends are there with me,

So, I am not the only one who leads,

And remembered,

Not to make people of my country plead,

Like me,

Now see,

Life isn’t very easy.
