A Staunch Hier

1 min read

Since times immemorial,

Furthering the societal norms,

Imbibing the values in all,

Upholding what is, what is not.

Enduring the pain,

Transmitting the traditional chains,

Carrying out duties in faith,

Assuaging their own gains,

Drenching herself in a family’s name.

But when the question of an heir came,

Her rights were eschewed as shame,

Sustaining the customary fame,

She let the other half always claim,

For what hers was to only maintain,

Allegiance, Responsibility & Stereotypical frames.

The hypocrisy of being an heir then lay bare,

Only onus, why not a share,

A share to rise, A share to fame,

She too deserves an identity same.
