A Sleepy Night

ONE HALF MOON AND A NORTHERN STAR

A CONSTELLATION OF TWO EYES AND THE RAPID TWINKLING OF THE HEART

HIS WALK LIKE A PAPER BOAT ON A RAINY DAY

AND THAT CRACKLE IN HIS LAUGHTER HAD A LOT TO SAY

AN IMAGINATION FORMED A MAP ON HIS FACE

AND SOON AN ADVENTUROUS PLAN WAS IN PLACE

WITH A SACK FILLED WITH HIS FAVOURITE THINGS

A LITTLE HUM HE BEGAN TO SING

A JINGLING OF THE COINS IN HIS POCKET ACCOMPANIED THE SONG

AND A KISS TO HIS FAVOURITE CAME ALONG

GOODBYE! SAID HE, “I AM OFF AND SHALL BE BACK SOON”

“IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD DAY FOR A TRIP TO THE MOON.”
