A Shower Too Long

By Vaishnavi Ojha

Turn on the shower.

Wash yourself;

By the stream of warm water and your tears.

Let it wash away;

The loose hair you're left with after throwing up.

Let it blend in;

With the redness of your eyes from when you remembered him get up.

Turn off the shower.

Go on stand naked in the mirror, crushed;

Dread the flesh he once touched.

Dry yourself;

Not just your body but your eyes too.

Convince yourself;

Hush, you're overreacting like you always do.

Can't you forget about it somehow?

After all, he only touched because you allowed.

I'm so touched. Something I truly feel, written in such poetic manner.
