A Sailor’s Affair

By Manisha Chalia

Drizzling snowfall awaits

the ship of a long lost sailor

By the coast, on a ridge

in the city of no jailers

Gowns held in places seemed to be running

they lived only memories & daydreams

Only to hear the news of changing

sounds of the cold water creeks

But what’s life without longing

and what’s breath if it’s not breaking

What’s love if it’s not hurting

For the waters had been testing

In the crowd, she looked around

for the face would dearly greet

And you know what happens next

when across the worlds, their eyes meet
