A Rainy Night's Longing

By Shravya

Accompanied by the lullaby of a rainy night

The pitter-patter draws a contended sign

A voice signsonged in my mind

Projecting melancholy and discomfort rounded with questions

Nudging me to ponder long

Gazing at the bench nestled between welcoming old trees

I reminisce the two strangers I would otherwise never meet

Their folded legs and touching shoulders

Evoking ever existent prosaic loneliness within
