A Rainy Morning
By Sahana Yengkokpam
The morning feels quite eerie,
A little serene to say so.
I look up from my table,
To look outside the window.
Outside, a thick mist covers a part of my world.
The quietness lays still,
As if time has stopped past my windowsill.
Clouds cover the sky
And soon the rain starts to pour.
As the raindrops touch the ground
My life feels tranquil.
The calmness doesn’t last long as lightning flashes
And thunder crashes before my eyes.
A tree falls here, a tree falls there;
The loud thunder follows the quiet lightning everywhere.
Some feel scared at the sight of the world crashing around them,
They freeze in fear hearing the loud crashes.
The loudness of the thunder shadows
The beautiful light of the lightning.
But do not be fooled,
The thunder may be loud
But the lightning does true harm.
As the lightning strikes a tree
And breaks it down
Thunder follows it
As if warning you that
You are next.
The above was a little bit of my creativity.
That I wrote while sitting near my windowsill.
When the rain poured,
While the morning was eerie,
And the world was still.
My art block made me write this.
Hope you enjoyed it still.
My thoughts by the windowsill.
