A Quiet Night

Went on the balcony

On a random stroll

Wanted to get some fresh air and thoughts.

Away from the chaos caused by the manmade fuss

I listened to the sounds of nature

And got peace as I had never got.

Crickets chirped, insects jumped

An eerie sound prevailed

It did not scare and provided solace.

Refreshed mind and soul

I felt connected with myself

And enjoyed the music that played.

Its melody acted as a medicine

That provided scope for introspection

And helped me dive deep within.

I look up at the night sky

l look at the lights coming from houses

And imagine the light within that shines on nights - quiet and still.
