A Quest

I wish to take a long stride away from the mayhem inside my head,
May be take a run to fasten getting away;
Because the patience of ordinary things is long bygone,
And my heart is impatient to weave the long-awaited tranquil stories with me as the main character.
I wish to steal moments of peace and love from the godown of life’s emotions - The shops in my heart doesn’t sell positivity and hope anymore,
And I have no option left than stealing moments;
Stealing may be a crime and stealing moments is something I am willing to commit to be handcuffed with serenity.
I wish to hone the art of getting by,
And put aside the fear that my path is made of glass -
Where I need to be careful and watchful of every step I take so as not to break any block ahead that would make me fall in the deep abyss –
Where my voices will echo for sure but no one to hear by.
I wish to take a walk with my feelings,
And have a long deep conversation about my keepsakes -
On, why I still treasure the keepsakes when they hurt me while I travel my memory garden? The memories - an old photograph, a broken wine glass, a jacket, a perfumed burnt-edged handwritten letter yet to be read, a rose, a friendship band;
They haunt, but this time, I want to have the closure-seeking conversation – putting an end to all the what-ifs and why nots.
I wish to be free and full of life and light,
To put an end to the darkening doorsteps like a moon eclipsing the sun;
Rather answer the door bell of stability -
As the nature’s play of lightness after darkness, happiness after sadness, cheers after tears are not just a process,
But a reality of life to accept and go on.
I wish to no longer be embarrassed about the dangling skeletons in my closet, Instead embrace my flaws and blemishes -
For the moon also has spots yet it is a symbol of love, symbol of tranquility,
Shining alone, showing light amidst the darkness -
And thus, I should no longer hide what I have, what I am –
It’s time to break the shackles, time to fulfil my quest – my quest for peace and stability.
