A Prayer Paused

At the door of your world, I simply stood still,

Like a prayer paused, against time’s will.

My eyes once restless, learned to bow –

A worship born from love somehow.

In losing myself, I became part of you,

Melted like verses in something true.

No longer two names, no separate flame –

We became a verse, love’s scared name.

So let me not hide, not today, not now,

I speak my truth and I know just how –

It’s simple, no riddles, no disguise,

I loved you, like a beautiful sunrise.

Even if silence is all I hear,

Even if the world won’t bring you near –

This love of mine was pure, was rare,

A soul found its meaning there.
