A Poem for My Little Darlings

Many great events in history

Began with a question

I take cue from the history’s greats and ask

Little Darling!

Why do you get pushed towards dreams that are not yours?

Why do you choose the path that you do not seek?

Why do you let your dreams end, before they see the day light?

And why do you never listen to yourself?

Little Raven!

You have a soul made of phoenix fire,

Capable of eternal regeneration (Birth and death, death and birth, over and over again)

Your soul a philosopher’s stone

Your touch can turn metal into gold

(Poison to elixir, a cure –all)

Do not cage yourself within the

Petty prison of society’s whims

Do not crumble (like powder, like old buildings in an earthquake)

Under the pressure of society’s expectations.

Little Darling!

Break away from the shackles of worldly norms.

Break away from the fear holding you back

Break away! Take a leap of faith (Jump, Hop,Run)

Out of the darkness and in to the light
