About the Work

"A Perfectly Prepared Performance" is a cerebral exploration of language, identity, and the art of storytelling. With a humorous edge, the monologue challenges the reader's perceptions through clever wordplay and rhetorical devices. The piece weaves a tapestry of introspection and satire, inviting the audience to question and reflect upon the nature of performance and self-expression.

Original Submission by Marco Gerrit Schoeman

I welcome the audience, to this perfectly prepared performance, please pay attention, be alert and aware.

this is my might making monologue.

for they call me the wordsmith william wiggle weapon, because i scare shakespeare shitless.

now, i swear on the use of foul language, my mockery contains massive meaning. it swirls in substance so severely, for it protrudes philosophically post performance. meandering in the mind like a contradictory antithesis,

because it says so much stuff, yet nothing noteworthy

because i will be gone at the end of this story.

a story so grand as to have no one question my glory.

question my glory? do you question my glory?

of course not the rhetorical question was one of my own invention

I invented it in my imagination you simpleton.

in solitude my soul searches something...

like separate strangers seeing one another form miles across

oh that's hyperbolic, oh just let them frolic it's symbolic isn't it?

i dont know if they what i know.

but you must be wondering will the wordsmith weave these words to a satisfying conclusion, who the hell will know, we'll have to wait until the end, the end?

The End.
