A Pause

By Shatakshi Parashar

In the whispers of silence, we part ways,

Running beyond the familiar maze.

A pause, a breath, a momentary flight,

Where shadows blend with emerging light.

Our story lingers, unwritten and free,

Suspended between what was and what could be.

This leap of faith, this gentle pause,

Carries promises without rigid laws.

Time will dance, and people will change,

Emotions will shift across life’s wide range.

I’ll heal the wounds, let waters flow smooth,

Releasing burdens, finding my groove.

No more dragging broken fragments behind,

No more letting darkness cloud the mind.

I choose to protect you from my storm’s rage,

To write a gentler, more understanding page.

Some battles are meant to be fought alone,

Yet connection remains our strongest tone.

A thought, a message – I’m never far away,

From sunrise’s first light to twilight’s soft sway.

Remember me? Perhaps, perhaps not.

But promise me this – forget me not.

Hold tight to dreams, let hope be your guide,

With our friendship’s true spirit forever beside.
