A New Blossom

With the blossom of a flower,

The one she wanted for years,

Down fell the wilted flower,

It fell with flowing tears

I hope one day when her mind clears,

She will know, the new one that rose,

It was not as pretty as it appears,

For it was a sunflower that newly arose.

Fear had taken over,

The fear of being replaced

I thought my time was over

And our bond had been erased,

It was all the thought of being replaced

I knew the blossom won't last much longer

Though it ensured her scars effaced

It was just a diseased sunflower.
