A Name The Wind Remembers

You dream of winds that carve the endless blue

a fleeting shape the morning cannot keep.

Each step you take, the ground forgets of you

yet still, I watch though silence runs too deep.

No tether binds, no call to hold you near

the sky unfolds and so you slip away.

Yet in your wake, the echoes linger here

soft traces left in air that will not stay.

The stars may map the places you will roam

and silver trails may mark where you have been.

But if, one night you find the world feels lone

a whispered thought may bring you back again.

No hands to reach, no weight, no vow to keep

just something left where the sky and earth first met.
