A Name The Earth Forgets

You stand unmoved yet always near my sky

a distant star that never fades nor falls.

You speak in half-lit echoes, soft yet shy

a voice that lingers, steady when night calls.

You never chase yet never turn away

a silent pull I’ve yet to name or prove.

Through fleeting hours and years that slip and sway

we trace ellipses, never daring move.

But if I called if once I let it show

would you still stand unshaken in your place?

Or would the tides that shaped us cease to flow

and leave us lost in what we did not face?

I fold up your words leave nothing behind

except for the thought you might always be mine.
