The Sengol,

colloquially ‘Semmai’,

symbolizing power of principle,

and supremacy of truth,

was proudly hoisted,

hailing promises of fairness,

and justice unadulterated.

While our elected guardians

reveled in ideologies of morality,

justice was dragged into the streets.

Female Olympic wrestlers,

never to be pinned into silence,

shouldered the weight of protest,

ready to trade sweat-soaked medals

for stolen dignity.

The hand that trained their strength on the mat,

betrayed their trust through assault.

The Sengol’s virtues faced the severest trial,

hopes beaten into silence,

truth found no witness,

left to bite the dust,

The Sengol’s sanctity was fractured in a moment

the accused, shielded by power, proved a formidable opponent.

Stained by the blood and tears of broken spirits,

The Sengol once a beacon of a new era, was now reduced to

justice by convenience

governance by autocracy.

An age where perpetrators walk free,

innocents beaten to pulp.

Where the iron scale,

bows to political brawn,

and not moral ideals

What a twist of irony,

a torch of freedom,

passed down from imperial oppressors of the past,

now became a baton of repression,

wielded by elected subjugators of the present.
