A Mile Upwards, But Not Heaven.

By Alika Gupta

there is a chance this is all for show

and we are playing "doctor!!!!"

with real consequence this time;

saturn striking down and burning my birth chart,

and my sordid liver/

i fear i will fail

and so the noble thing to do is to stage a coupe

in your name at the height of my smartness

before it is too late,

but the choice of

existing in pain is so much more rebellious/

i'd imagine myself no more as the chad psychological warrior poetess

but a smartass/

a mile upwards, but not heaven.
