A Mere Disparity

Updated: Dec 16, 2024

In times gone by,

my dear friend, rage confronted the bad guy

though, it may have been fancifully exclusive to me

while I felt compelled to pray to Him, a true deity.

I pray, wish, beg,

for the unwavering strength in all of my body,

for, I believe I am a regent of the mind; worthy.

Yet, I stand bewildered at my inability to partake in battle.

He, who stands in opposition to me; swords rattle.

Frantically, I seek guard.

One swing and I shall be forever scarred.

I wonder, why is it not me with the knife,

just a mere disparity of ability and life.

He, with the Herculean physique, remains regarded as greater,

hence, I settle to bleed on this paper.
