A Lover's Quarrel

Over breakfast one windy morning,

As my scarf did a jive,

You looked at it and quizzed-

"Is it the one we bought at the night market in Goa?"





I meticulously sliced my omelette,

Took my time as I chewed…

Nodded to the words you had spoken in days,

And made a mental note to put away the rhythmic perpetrator.
