A love poem

This is a poem about love

In which you are the sun

And I’m the most radiant when you smile

You are the art

That lingers in me for eternity

The art that becomes the muse

Love might be falling

And breaking

But it’s also the way you touch my cracks

With soft fingers

And a softer heart

Love might be the winter wind at 3 a.m.

And then crueler still

But it’s also the way I melt into your arms after every cold day

It’s the way I see my home in every colour your eyes muster

And every line on your face

Love might be an abandoned hopeless corner

But it’s also the garden you’ve planted inside me

Love might be the deepest shade of violence

But it’s also the calmest blue I’ve ever felt

The colour of sunrises

When they blush pink

Love might be crashing and burning

But it’s a warm hearth with you
