A Lonely Night

In silence, my mind is loud.

The moon looks especially alluring tonight.

In this endless crowd of nameless faces,

I only look for you.

This seems like the perfect place to disappear.

I drown thoughts of you with music,

Somehow, unbeknownst to me,

Tear drops fall on my palm.

Holding a picture of you, I weep.

Everything will go back to normal when the sun rises again.

That’s how the world works.

But tonight seems endless.

Lights flickers in a distance.

The cold breeze tangling my hair.

This unsettling silence.

Everything seems surreal.

There is a tomorrow without you,

Waiting for me.

I can’t accept it just yet.

So I lay awake, looking at the stars,

Asking them where it all went wrong.
