A Letter To My Guru

(This poetry I am writing is dedicated to the guru who isn’t in this world but always will remain in my heart)

I remember that day,

 when I came into your class

You were sitting in the middle of the mass.

I was crying,

 because the place wasn’t familiar

But then the warm smile came and

I received the first Book of my life.

I was raw, unripped and had nothing to be your student !

But it was my guru

 who taught me right lessons

and made me a bright student;

The strength, sacrifices and time

 you had invested in your student

 is admirable !

Just a day cannot define your endeavour

And mere words aren’t enough to your grandeur;

I cannot forget those games and sums

Those punishments and philosophies

That you taught me;

I’m debtor to you and always will be,

Because you illuminated the light of ‘Knowledge’

As a diamond is only recognized by the jeweller,

You recognised your student

And polished them like Gems.

Guruji,

You were my pride and privilege !

I always will cherish

your advice and affection,

Your philosophies and phrases

Thank you for everything !

You are not here,

But your teachings will always be with me like your blessings !.

                                             -Your Student
