A Leaf Falling in Spring

A single leaf fell from the tree

while everything was green.

The branches wore their brightest clothes;

it looked almost unseen.

It wondered if the season

had forgotten it somehow,

while every other leaf remained

exactly where it was now.

But nature has its own strange ways,

and not all things agree.

Perhaps being different from the rest

is how we're meant to be.
