A Last Note

By Dhriti Arya

A last note,

a last sight,

a last quote,

a last night,

then I have to go far,

in death's deep bay.

But do hear what I say,

for it's the last note from a twinkling star.

I twinkled in the dark night sky.

At times glorious, at times dull,

but now its time for goodbye.

Yet in my this old skull,

I fight death and life.

For I wish to fill the shimmering space.

Although life has its own pace.

Oh! Get me out of this strife!

But now my mind is prepared.

For death is nothing but the doorway to the next venture.

But before I go on this adventure,

I'd love to once again stay

in the sky be it the last time

where I often hear the whispering wind chime.

That was all my heart's last note wished to say.
