A HOPE FOR YOU

I have always been,

The most quiet,

The least shining and outstanding,

Throughout my life.

I have always been,

The average,

The least popular,

The one with the least friends,

And,

The most insecure person,

That I, myself,

Could ever imagine.

Out of nowhere,

You appeared and came into my life,

You saw me, sitting alone in the crowd,

Without hesitation;

You sat and talked to me,

At that moment,

We became close and inseparable.

People started noticing,

The difference in me,

Some took it in a positive way,

And some, hated me for it.

Often, they try to tear us apart,

Spreading rumours and false accusations,

Especially, to me.

You stood by my side,

Defending me;

For as you know,

How exactly I am,

To you.

I have always wondered,

If only this relationship could last forever,

But who I am to control,

What is beyond my power?

I knew that one day,

Something will happen,

That could affect our friendship,

Temporarily or permanently.

Because of one lie,

That was further from the truth,

We were no longer the same.

You chose to believe the deceivers,

Instead of me.

You believed the sayings that were not even true,

Rather than supporting me.

I tried clarifying,

I tried telling,

“It was a lie! It was never true!”

But,

It was of no use.

As you refused to listen,

And,

Turned your back away from me,

Eventually, I knew,

I am left alone again,

And tears,

Rolled down my cheeks.

Time passes by,

And,

I never hear from you again.

Every single day,

I pray and hope,

That someday,

You will come back to me;

For I have been missing,

My other significant half - You.
