A Heart's Resolve

"Always the poet, never the poem"

I do not wish to be a poem anymore,

I would be your scribbles when you do decide to write.

When your mind is blocked,

When you want to write but you just cannot.

When the pages slip into the air,

and you realise you only ever have two hands, you cannot possibly, at once, catch them all.

The scribbles that would weigh down your tongue, and spread ink wide up till your lungs.

Scribbles, that would make the tree out the window so very poetic, but capturing its essence merely

prosaic.

I would be your scribbles when you do decide to write,

The careless strokes that would take up hours of your time;

The ones that would turn the wrinkles in a shirt look very alike to madness,

The ones that would have you hunt around brand-new words like chronicles.

Your bureau would be influenced and your perspective with the dais,

I, would be impossible for you to describe but everywhere within the sight,

I would be your scribbles when you do decide to write.
