A Good Person

She sat down, weary as anything.

The phone buzzed and trilled away but she was firmly sat.

Subtly swaying. Waiting.

It was all bullshit anyway–the phones and their fraud.

All lies.

What makes a good person? she wanted to ask the Internet.

Looks.

Opportunity.

Opinions.

Money.

Intellect.

Nepotism.

Gall.

Defiance.

Ego.

Scruples (none).

Philanthropy.

Ambition.

Impatience.

Radicality.

And learning to cope with that…I see, she said.

The truth:

Phones and their fraud are bullshit,

sneakily waiting to

POUNCE on you and laugh in your face.

You sit down, weary as anything.

But are you a good person?
