A girl who grew up!

By Medha Mishra

Let me tell you all a story about a girl named Lilly.

Lilly was a late child, her childhood was not all bad but there isn’t much good to remember either. Her childhood went away in lack of attention and a few family tragedies that took place one after another took away her teenage years in a blink.

As for people, she knew nothing but when she did learn it was expectations and not progress.

Her birth was justified to be “useful” at the time of crisis. She got fat so, not beautiful as people didn’t like it.

She was supposed to be present on one call and everything had to be done by her.

Not that she was strong to be responsible but that’s what she was for. She didn’t has many friends and not many places to go so solitude wasn’t always the chosen idea.

There were words like responsibility, expectations and disappointment and words like care deserving or happiness

Were often lacking.

She was a child but she grew up when for the first time she went to the bathroom to cry and after coming back, nobody just nobody noticed Those red swollen eyes

Tired looking face

Cracking voice

That child just couldn’t go back…….

She grew up!

But she isn’t losing herself yet she promises herself that she will give herself the life she deserves the life she dreams of.

She will smile through this and won’t let anything pull her down. She will get there!
