What a long, tough day

Thought school would go on forever

Maths was a real killer

Fractions don’t make me feel clever

Geography was dreadful

What is the capital of Nepal?

And the president of Mexico?

Must be Trump- isn’t he building a wall?

The clock seemed to tick backwards

I’m sure it just stuck out its tongue

Another whole hour of History

Before the final school bell rung

With a long, dramatic sigh

I drop my school bag on the floor

But I knew that my bad day was over

The very second I close the door

3,2,1………… She bounds, she skids

She corners on two paws

Her long ears are leading

She’s a rebel with a cause

Come here girl

She’s sprinting at full pace

She’s slobbering and panting

Then leaps to lick my face

I dodge her, she whines

I tickle, she wiggles

She rolls onto her back

Which then gives me the giggles

Definitely ADHD

The doctor would say

Just like those hooligans at school

She just wants to play

Oh no, not my teddy

It’s missing its head

Bad Girl, Flinch, Bad Girl!!!!

Now go to your bed

It’s the fifth teddy this month That you’ve ripped right apart Don’t think that you can now Try to soften my heart

Don’t look at me like that

With those big puppy eyes

It’s not going to work, Flinch It’s now time for goodbyes

Ah girl, I didn’t mean it

You can have another teddy You’re my best friend you know Let’s play fetch, are you ready?

All is forgiven

As I throw her favourite ball She sprints and then pounces With her usual sparkle and all

Oh what a lovely fun day

I wish it would go on forever When will this loving feeling end? With my dog Flinch, I say NEVER!
