A Girl In My Dairy

I found you in my diary,

back to the sweet old days,

Where my mind and heart wander,

lost in your gentle ways.

Nights of love yet to cherish,

A teen boy and a cute girl,

Smart him, cute her—

A fairy tale in a whirl.

Your hair danced in the breeze,

as days melted into nights,

For once, an atheist prayed to God,

that you’d be my heart’s delight.

I could never find the courage,

to confess what lay inside,

Now it all feels like a story,

a tale where love did hide.

As I think about you now,

there was a charm about your light,

Like you were the chosen one,

turning darkness into bright.

Gloomy sky, now with stars,

countless hearts that fell in line,

But your love was worth the wait,

A treasure I call mine.

In memories, I see us there—

A younger me, a younger you,

In a dance on the floor of my dreams,

In love, so deep and true.
