A flashback

Sometimes you just want to lie down, let out a sigh, and release those wrinkles on your forehead which is caused by apprehension. You want to close your eyes and desire a flashback. A flashback where you never heard those petrifying words for the first time,

where you didn’t misuse your hope, where you didn’t swallow your guilt, where you never changed colours, where you didn’t close your eyes on a headache, where you didn’t give away a piece of yourself that easily, where a melodious sound didn’t change into an alarming one, where you didn’t look away from a precious sight, where you didn’t mess up a simple line, where you didn’t let the zing go away, where you didn’t feel like an alien in the room, where you could have saved some tears, where you could have done everything right. A flashback that could have changed the whole story. A flashback that never existed. A flashback that didn’t start in the first place because no matter how tight you hold it, it’s already gone.

So instead of getting shot by it when you’re trying to fly why not embrace it for the last time, set it free, and try flying again with new wings?
