A Exam Fear

By Sabareesh. N

I had an English exam yesterday,

And I was just not prepared

For it.

We were asked to

Write a poem

About this exam,

And it is.

The questions are the mystery,

Like a treasury.

The sheets are not filled with answers,

Like off-sewed sweaters.

The last five minutes,

A last choice.

A more to write,

The paper should not remain white.

Parents say, “Study well,

Otherwise life becomes hell.”

With the education power,

We can reach the tower.

I had the glimpse of the book,

Which I had a look.

The time was ticking fast,

I should not lose.

The time ran,

And I won.

I completed the exam

Like bun, butter, jam.

This poem creatively captures the emotions of an exam—fear, confusion, pressure, and finally relief. The simple language and relatable ideas make it easy to connect with the student’s experience. A thoughtful and imaginative attempt—well done!
