I watched her in the candle’s glow -

Her face a blush of dawn,

Oh, if it had been possible i’d let the world know

How i had memorized every inch of her body

Like my favourite song.

Bulb after bulb on the streets

Scantily dealt in the silver light,

Her hand brushed mine between the silk sheets

And the lord could try,

But I won’t let him save me from this plight.

No vow was given, none could speak -

It needn’t be on documents to be true

And besides, her mother won’t like how mine raised me

But here her daughter was,

So didn't she fail too?
