A Depressed Staph

Yet another sorrowful morning.

Another day in Nutrient Agar.

Same old peptone, so irritating!

Our village had grown in it since last 24hrs.

This spherical creature beside me

Is supposedly my sister.

That old guy is my great grandpa,

Beside him, our village ancestor.

This peptone irritates my peptidoglycan.

When will this get into their head?

Next they will heat us up in flame.

And paint us violet.

Our ancestors had seen better days.

When we used to break RBCs in Blood Agar.

I have even heard tales of furuncles, abscess,

Arthritis ,Pneumonia and infections endovascular.

These were the happy days.

We used to produce orange and golden yellow pigments.

What is the use of keeping a life,

Where u only sit, feed and lament?
