A Date With La Luna

By Emily D'Addieco

Many moons ago,

I looked up at the majestic satellite forged in stone I looked to her like a mother

as she bathed me in her soft glow

something of meeting her gaze

ignited within me

an array of thoughts

sort of an intellectual maze

-I ran miles

down passages in my mind

then looked back up at her…

-her face so thoughtless

archaic and kind.
